Spring Birding Tours
Visit World Renown Birding Sites with B&B operators Betty and Bob Shannon



Tours will be conducted by Betty Shannon who has been an avid bird watcher for more than 50 years, and who has included more than 300 different birds to her personal list. She will be assisted by her husband, Bob, an accomplished photographer and birder

The major sites will be Wye Marsh, with the Trumpeter Swan recovery Centre, Tiny Marsh a major bird staging area in Simcoe County, and the Matchedash Bay Marsh, Carden Plain and Alvar, Minesing Swamp and the Ganaraska Trail.

All of these areas also have one of North America's largest concentrations of shorebirds as well as large populations of migrating songbirds. One of the sites has a Great Blue Heron Rookery that the birder can see in full activity plus, sometimes, a Red Headed Woodpecker. Another site usually has Nesting Sandhill cranes in residence.

DATES Tours are conducted each week during May on a three-day basis, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

TOURS INCLUDE: Accommodation All meals daily on the 3 tour days (Lunch is served in the field) Gourmet Breakfast on the morning of departure

RATES $150.00 per person per day based on Double Occupancy or $400 per person for each 3-day tour based on Double Occupancy INCLUDES: Accommodations Meals as shown above Transportation to and from the sites
